The Wedding

My baby (and only) brother, Kenneth, got married on December 18th. Kenneth and Rachel's sealing ceremony wasn't until early afternoon, so they had a nice brunch at the Joseph Smith Memorial in Salt Lake City beforehand.

Despite the wet weather, we got to walk around Temple Square for a bit after the brunch before heading in to the temple. Thank you so much to Aunt Pam and her roommates for driving up and watching the kids for us while we were inside!

The happy couple.

A picture of my family on the steps of the temple.

I was honored that Rachel asked me and my sisters to be bridesmaids (brides' matrons?). She has great taste--it's nice to have a dress that I'll want to wear again. I actually wore it to church today. :)

Adriana was so excited to get to "twirl with Aunt Rachel" at the reception. She'd been talking about it for weeks. I just missed the actual twirling action, but here is right after.

There was a lot of down time for the kids. They all did a great job throughout the day, especially considering that I left the huge, carefully packed bag full of snacks and lunch food for our family sitting at home on our kitchen table. So much for careful planning ahead!

Our attempt at a family picture before the reception.

Adriana and Miriam weren't shy about going up to perfect strangers and asking them to dance.

We finally tired them out by the end of the evening.

It was a good thing, too, because there was a huge accident on the freeway that evening and it took us more than twice as long as usual to get home. We were very thankful to have three sleeping children in the car during that drive.

Those are a few highlights from the day. We are so glad to have Rachel in our family now. We're especially loving having Uncle Ken and Aunt Rachel living in our ward now, only two houses away. Lots of fun!
