A Darren By Any Other Name

Yesterday we got into a discussion about middle names, things like Kendall's middle name is Edward and that I don't have a middle name, just a maiden name (sorry, Mom and Dad, I may still harbor some bitterness over that). Miriam piped up, "I know Darren's middle name. It's Dare Bear!"

I confess that yes, I often call my son a name that sounds suspiciously close to a group of chubby, rainbow-colored, crazy tummy power wielding, overly saccharine, cartoon characters from the 80's. Darren actually responded to the name Dare Bear before he answered to Darren when he was a baby. I'm sure he'll object to it when he's a little older, but for now, he's definitely my Dare Bear.
