Christmas 2011

I'm writing this post well after the fact, so I'm going to mostly have pictures without a lot of text. Here was our Christmas 2011!

We had an awesome Christmas party for Kendall's work. They had rented out all of Classic Skating.
Also enjoyed the ward Christmas party. We really love having Uncle Ken and Aunt Rachel in our ward!
Put up and decorated the tree. Don't have a single picture of the tree itself, but Miriam took this last picture of her "very favorite ornament."
Busy season of handbell concerts.
Adriana played the old woman in her school play of The Gingerbread Boy. She designed and put together her costume all by herself, with a little help from Mom with her wrinkles and turning her hair gray with baby powder.Continued the tradition of going to Grandma and Grandpa's house for Christmas Eve. We had a recital that evening, which included Adriana playing "Jingle Bells" for us and playing some Christmas songs with Mom's hand chimes. This year for the Nativity play, Darren was Joseph, while my not quite one-year-old niece, Cosette, was Mary (with help :). Darren thought it was more fun to hang out with the Wise Men (and steal their presents) than with Cosette. Miriam was the angel, and insisted on wearing her Belle princess dress instead of white. Adriana wanted to be the donkey, and made her costume herself.
Christmas morning. Favorite gifts were Adriana's Nerf guns, Miriam's Sleeping Beauty dress, and any kind of ball Darren could throw or hit.

Later, Christmas day at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We love the tradition of Christmas crackers from England.

Visited with relatives.
Decorated and demolished the gingerbread house.
Whew, we made it to the end! There's a reason I always procrastinate posting about Christmas. Just writing this blog post tired me out. :)
