Friday Night Fun

Now that we're back in school and on a regular schedule, Friday nights have turned into quite the production at our house. Friday nights were already pizza night. We usually make homemade pizza where everyone can put on their own toppings of choice (we use cake pans to make personal size pizzas, although Kendall is the only one who can eat a whole one), and then we do Little Caesar's pizza once a month.

We've also started having family movie night on Fridays. We're taking turns who gets to choose the movie, starting youngest to oldest, and then whoever chooses the movie also gets to decide what flavor of popcorn we have. I'll air pop some popcorn in the popper, and then they get to choose the toppings. The favorite is just "butter juice," or just melted butter with a little salt, but we've experimented with a few other seasonings, too.

Yesterday we also attended the children's cooking class that Maceys has most Fridays. It was a hit. I've already signed us up (along with two friends we brought along) for the other classes in September. Yesterday the kids made bagel critters and pickles in a blanket. Cooking classes are 4:30-5:30, which meant we got home just in time to make pizzas and start the movie.

Yesterday was even more exciting because the girls had a "camp out" in their bedroom. One princess tent, two sleeping bags, two pillow pets, and two flashlights equals two happy girls. Who knew that mismatched jammies and a swimming suit were "the perfect camping clothes!" Apparently my seasoned campers did, or so they informed me.

We'll see if I can keep up this action-packed schedule every Friday, but yesterday was definitely a success.
