Wanna Buy a House?

It's not that there haven't been a lot of things to blog about the last month (month and a half?). The truth is, I just haven't felt like blogging. Shocking, I know, but it happens even to the best of us sometimes.

One, although certainly not the sole, reason, is that we're trying to sell our house. The world of For Sale By Owner is a new one for us that we've been trying to navigate to the best of our ability this past month. We've already learned a lot, not the least of which is that it is a lot of work to keep your house at a "ready to show a potential buyer at any time" level of clean when you have three small children. There's "get the house clean because the home teachers are coming over" clean, but it's a whole different story when every closet and drawer and corner of the basement needs to be ready for inspection.

I'd rather not go into all the details about why we feel that now is a good time to move (still struggling with some blogging apathy here). We've lived within a few blocks radius for almost ten years (we'll have been married ten years in August), and in this house for almost five and no matter how much we've loved the ward and neighborhood I think it's time for us to take this next step.

This leads me to the whole purpose of writing this blog post. With a For Sale By Owner, networking is incredibly important. We've posted ads on numerous websites, talked to people, posted things on Facebook, but I haven't yet taken advantage of this forum. So in case there is anyone who still follows our blog who might not have already known we were trying to sell our house, and who might know of someone looking to buy a house next to BYU, here goes.

We are a three bedroom, 1 bath home, with 1260 square feet upstairs and a partial basement that brings us to 1400 square feet. The basement is carpeted, with closets and electricity (unlike the dirt cellar that most of these older houses have). We are just a seven minute walk away from BYU campus (or five minute bike ride, or two minute drive if you're being technical). It's a great location. We're one block south of Kiwanis park, two blocks away from the elementary school, and near four LDS meeting houses (gotta love Provo).

Our floors include hardwood, carpet, tile, and linoleum. The fridge, dishwasher, and stove are all included (and we may be persuaded to leave the washer and dryer).

For a house of this size, we have a lot of storage space, including a one car garage, outdoor shed, addition on the back of the house, and the basement.

Our backyard is fully fenced, with mature trees, fruit trees, and prepared garden areas. We have fully automated sprinklers in the front and back yard.

And that's our house. We're asking $149,000. Please let me know if you know of anyone who may be interested!

which elementary school are you close to? Wasatch?

Yes, we're just two blocks away from Wasatch Elementary. We're also in Timpview High School's boundaries. Is your dad looking to buy an investment property, or do you have siblings attending BYU?

Wow, totally caught me by surprise! We drove past your house today and I was shocked to see the sign. I saw something on Facebook earlier, but assumed you were talking about the house next door to you. So sad. And just when we are moving back. :(
